About

The Namesake Project provides students the opportunity to research their school and/or community “namesake(s)” and origins as a catalyst for creating a piece of critical, place-based writing. The Namesake Project finalist will be published in an anthology, offering greater visibility and validation to teens who are committed to building their writing skills.

Who

This workshop is available for all Tulsa and surrounding area students in grades 9-12. Dr. Nick Alexandrov, a member of the Tri-City collective, will lead the workshop.

What

This work shop will cover basic, intermediate, and advanced research techniques -- everything from how to craft an effective Google search, to hot to navigate complex online databases.
