Tri-City Collective, in partnership with the Woody Guthrie Center, will feature disco legend Nicky Siano at Real Talk: Love Saves the Day, an in-person and virtual discussion. This free event, which is open to the public, will be held June 24 from 2 p.m- 3:30 p.m. at the Woody Guthrie Center. It will feature a 60-minute discussion with Siano followed by 30 minutes of questions from the audience. Â Daniel McHenry, founder of Black Queer Tulsa, will interview Siano, who has been spinning records for more than 50 years. Siano co-owned the Gallery at age 17, launching the careers of Grace Jones, D.C. La Rue, Loleatta Holloway, Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles, to name a few. He was one of the original DJs at Studio 54, and continues to tour, DJing sold out shows worldwide. Black Queer Tulsa's mission is to normalize the Black queer experience in Tulsa by organizing community events that promote inclusion, awareness, safe spaces, and a strong community.
