Join Tri-City Collective at Mother Road Market for a free screening of the movie, LA Originals, with music by FILA, and a panel discussion about the diverse influences in areas like dance, tattoos, and cars that shaped the culture of hip-hop. Doors open at 4 pm.

Tulsa comedian and storyteller Sondra Slade will host the event and Rapper Doc Free, who has played a pivotal role in the hip-hop scene in Tulsa over the past 10 years, will be the DJ. MCs First Verse, Shyheim, K.O., and YUNGxHALLOWEEN will be featured performers, following the film.Â

LA Originals (2020) created by Mexican photographer & videographer Estevan Oriol. The film features Oriol and legendary tattoo artist Mark Machado aka Mr. Cartoon, in an exploration of car culture and the Chicano street art movement that influenced West Coast Hip-Hop.Â
Featuring appearances by Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Blink 182, Danny Trejo, and George Lopez, the film serves to preserve Oriol's 25 years’ worth of footage and photographs during a unique time in hip hop history.
